Contractors across Africa.Managed for you, end to end.
Working with independent contractors in multiple African markets? Charter Pay takes care of the day-to-day administration: agreements, onboarding, invoice coordination, payment support and records. We use our own tools to manage the process, so you can concentrate on your projects and people.
Your contractors.
Our operational support.
Contractor Management is an outsourced service for organisations that engage independent professionals directly. Your business remains the contracting party, while Charter Pay coordinates agreed contractor administration: documentation, onboarding, invoices, payment instructions, records and recurring support.
Unlike software platforms that you operate yourself, our team manages the workflow using Charter Pay's own tools. You retain control of the commercial relationship, project deliverables, approvals and contractual obligations.
You manage the engagement.
We manage the administration.
Your contractors. Far less paperwork for your team.
As your contractor network grows, the administrative work grows with it. We bring structure and consistent follow-through without requiring you to learn or maintain a new platform.

LAGOS + CAPE TOWN
Imagine a European creative agency works directly with a designer in Lagos and a research consultant in Cape Town. The agency agrees their project scopes and pays their fees, but does not want its operations team chasing invoices and documents across markets. Charter Pay can coordinate onboarding files, approval schedules, invoices and records while the agency remains each contractor's direct contracting party.
Everyday contractor administration, organised.
From the first engagement record through the final invoice, Charter Pay coordinates the recurring administrative tasks using our own tools and agreed client workflows.
Agreements and records
Coordinate contractor agreements, agreed terms, amendments and supporting documents for your records.
Contractor onboarding
Collect and organise contractor profiles, documentation, contacts and required onboarding information.
Invoice management
Maintain invoice records, track expected submissions, flag missing items and route invoices for approval.
Payment coordination
Prepare agreed payment schedules and coordinate follow-up once your authorised team approves and funds payments.
Classification and compliance support
Flag contracting or worker-classification considerations and coordinate country-specific documentation as agreed.
Reporting and offboarding
Keep contractor registers and approval records organised, and coordinate administrative close-out of completed engagements.

Contractor management enquiries
We welcome enquiries across Africa. Contractor classification, documentation, payment arrangements and the scope of management support depend on the country and engagement. The client remains the direct contracting party unless a separate Contractor of Record arrangement is agreed.
Direct contracts. Outsourced administration.
Contractor Management is designed for businesses that want to keep contracting directly with independent professionals while delegating the operational workload. If you need a third party to become the contracting counterparty, we can explore Contractor of Record. If the working relationship is actually employment, EOR may be more appropriate.
Discuss your contractor arrangementsGood questions. Clear answers.
Outsourcing contractor administration should make life simpler without blurring legal responsibilities. Here are some of the practical questions clients ask us.
Does Charter Pay become the contractor's legal counterparty?
Not under Contractor Management. Your business normally contracts directly with the independent professional. Charter Pay handles the administrative support agreed with you. If you need an intermediary to become the contracting counterparty, ask us about Contractor of Record.
Do we have to buy or operate a contractor management platform?
No. We provide an outsourced service, using Charter Pay's own tools and processes to organise contracts, onboarding, invoice approvals, payment schedules and records. Your team supplies the required information and makes the relevant business approvals.
Can you manage contractors we already work with?
Yes. We coordinate onboarding and administration for existing and newly engaged independent contractors.
Who approves and makes contractor payments?
Your business approves the invoices and remains responsible for meeting its direct contractual payment obligations. Charter Pay can coordinate invoice tracking, payment schedules and agreed execution support. Any actual payment execution depends on the contract, country and payment arrangements.
What about contractor classification and local compliance?
Independent contractor status depends on the actual working relationship and local laws, not just the agreement label. Charter Pay can help coordinate documentation and flag potential concerns, but administration alone does not remove the client's classification or legal responsibilities. EOR or COR may be more suitable in some cases.
How is pricing determined?
Pricing depends on the number of contractors, their countries, required administrative tasks, payment support and reporting needs. Tell us about your contractor network and we can prepare a tailored proposal.
Your contractors. Our admin support. More time for your business.
Tell us where your contractors work, approximately how many you engage and which processes you would like to outsource. We'll help define a practical Contractor Management arrangement across the relevant markets.
