Your entities.
Our payroll operations.

With outsourced Global Payroll, your business employs staff through its own local entities while Charter Pay performs agreed payroll operations on your behalf. We use our own tools and processes to prepare payroll rather than asking your team to adopt and operate another payroll platform.

You keep control of your people, employment decisions and payroll approvals. Charter Pay takes on the detailed processing and coordination behind each pay cycle, following country-specific requirements and an agreed division of responsibilities.

A payroll partner, not another system to manage.

You send the inputs and approve the results. We handle the processing using Charter Pay's own tools and agreed workflows, with support tailored to the countries where you employ people.

Fully managed payroll

Hand over the monthly calculations, payslips and routine payroll administration to a dedicated external team, rather than running the tools yourself.

Continue working with Charter Pay as you add entities, increase headcount or transition suitable engagements from EOR or COR to your own employment structure.

ILLUSTRATIVE PAYROLL
KENYA + GHANA

Imagine a UK business operates its own companies in Kenya and Ghana, each with local employees. Its HR team sends Charter Pay monthly changes and approved pay details. We prepare country-specific payroll calculations and reports for sign-off, then coordinate agreed payslips, payment files and statutory documentation. The companies remain the legal employers; Charter Pay runs their outsourced payroll.

Your entity changes. Your payroll partner doesn't have to.

Setting up your own company is a milestone, not a reason to rebuild payroll from scratch. If you're moving from EOR to direct employment, or converting a suitable contractor engagement into employment with your entity, Charter Pay can help transition the payroll administration and continue managing subsequent pay cycles.

Discuss your payroll transition
EOR → Own entityMove employees from an EOR employing structure to your local entity, with payroll setup and continuity coordinated subject to the appropriate transfer process.
COR → Own entityWhere an independent contractor becomes an employee of your entity, help establish the new employee payroll arrangements after the engagement and classification are reviewed.
Your entity → Ongoing payrollKeep Charter Pay as your outsourced payroll operations partner while your local entity employs and manages the team directly.

Good questions. Clear answers.

Our Global Payroll service is outsourced and managed. These answers explain how it works when you employ staff through your own entities and when you're moving beyond EOR or COR.

Do we need our own legal entities for Global Payroll?

For this managed Global Payroll service, your business normally employs staff through its own legal entities. If you do not have an employing entity in a market, we can discuss EOR instead. We assess the arrangement in each country before confirming scope.

Do we need to buy or operate Charter Pay software?

No. Charter Pay provides payroll as an outsourced service and uses its own tools to process the work. Your team shares the agreed monthly inputs, reviews the results and approves payroll. We agree data transfer, reporting and communication methods during onboarding.

Can Charter Pay take over payroll after EOR?

Yes. When employees move from an EOR arrangement to your local entity, we help establish and administer payroll under the new employing structure.

What if we are moving from Contractor of Record?

If a contractor is properly converted to employment with your own entity, Charter Pay can help with the resulting payroll setup and ongoing processing. A contractor does not automatically become an employee simply because you establish an entity; classification and contractual changes must be reviewed.

Who pays salaries and statutory contributions?

Your entity remains the legal employer and responsible for funding payroll and meeting applicable obligations. Charter Pay can prepare calculations, instructions, schedules, reports and agreed remittance support. Any payment execution or filings are specifically defined in the contract and country scope.

What information do you need, and how is pricing set?

We normally agree employee records, pay elements, monthly changes, cut-off dates and approval contacts during setup. Pricing reflects the countries, entities, employee numbers, frequency and scope of support. Contact us for a tailored proposal.
